Trends in Adolescent Substance Use (Online)

| FreeOver the last three years, the Washington Poison Center has observed a substantial increase in intentional adolescent self-poisonings. Youth are living in unprecedented times as they continue to face new and ongoing challenges to their mental health due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, such as social media and bullying. These trends reinforce the importance of being aware and taking action to help the adolescents in our lives.
In this presentation, Alex Sirotzki will share the poison center’s perspective and trends on adolescent self-harm and suicide, as well as key prevention strategies to reduce harm among the youth in your lives.
